We love to see our team members love us as much as we love them.  For this reason, we celebrate our long-time devoted veterans. Marley, Downtown Nail Designer, will celebrate ten years with Neroli Salon & Spa.
When Marley isn’t outdoing herself in the nail designer world, Marley can be found at a local eatery, a concert, or even a WWE event.

Everyone, meet Marley.

First, your 10 year work anniversary is coming up!
How does it feel to work with Neroli for a decade?

I can honestly say that I can’t picture myself working anywhere else. Working for a company that truly cherishes and appreciates each and every employee is an honor. I feel really lucky to have such a wonderful opportunity. Ten years has flown by and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years brings!

What inspired you to be a Nail Designer?
Did you always know you wanted to be a Nail Designer?

Back in 2013, I was honored to do my dear friend Sarah’s nails on her wedding day. In that moment I thought to myself, “Why am I not doing this for a living? This would be so much fun!”  We were both already working for Neroli at the time, and it’s actually how we became close friends. I signed up for the Manicuring program at the Institute of Beauty and Wellness just a short time after that.

What wellness tip do you recommend, especially for the cold season?

Getting a spa service of course! What better way to spend a cold, gloomy winter day than at the spa? Grab a friend or get in that “me time” you’ve been putting off for months. Whether it’s a massage, facial, manicure or pedicure, it’s a good way to recharge, relax, and get out of the house!

Are there any widespread myths about nails/nail care/wellness that you find true or false?

I often hear people say that they don’t need or want pedicures during the winter months. Just because they’re not as visible and you might not polish them doesn’t mean your feet should be neglected! Our feet support our entire body all day everyday so its crucial to care for them. It’s important to take time for yourself and relax.

What inspires you at work?

Hands down, my guests. I love that I have the opportunity to meet new people everyday and also to have such close relationships with my existing guests. My job is to make people look and feel amazing. At the end of the day, even the hard days, that’s what keeps me going.

Fun fact: Marley’s always been a professional wrestling fan and got to go to WWE Smackdown live last October.

What is the hottest trend with nails right now, in your opinion?

Gel polish. A few years ago who would’ve thought we’d have a polish that was 100% dry right away and would last for 2 weeks? Gel polish is especially popular in the winter months so guests can put their socks, shoes, and gloves on right away!

You’re on a desert island – what Aveda product do you bring?

The Beautifying Radiance Polish. The aroma is an uplifting blend of lavender and rosemary. Its a multi purpose product because it’s both exfoliating and hydrating for the skin.

Do you have a celebrity crush or role model?

I absolutely love Ellen DeGeneres. She really is a perfect blend of kind and funny. I love all that she stands for and believes in and I think she is someone both women and men can look up to.

When you’re feeling down, you know you can turn to ___ to brighten your day.

Music. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I always have music playing. Music has always had the power to alter my mood. And I have such a variety of music that I love that I never run out of things to listen to.

It’s your day off. What do you do?

I love spending my free time antique and thrift shopping (I love to upcycle!), going to see live music, spending time with my boyfriend, Kyle, camping, taking advantage of every and anything Milwaukee has to offer with my friends, and eating out at local restaurants.
