Giving Back

Our Giveback Philosophy

At Neroli Salon & Spa, we believe in a philosophy not only exceeding customer expectation but also giving back to the communities and families that are a part of our everyday lives.

We believe in being leaders in the community and that our continued success is based upon being good, corporate citizens through giving back.

Why do we #giveback?

We simply strive to live the Aveda Mission everyday.

“Our Mission at Aveda is to care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways in which we give back to society. At Aveda, we strive to set an example for environmental leadership and responsibility, not just in the world of beauty, but around the world.”

Community care can take many forms. At Neroli, we have chosen to focus our commitment on:

  • Our employees, who are the source of our success and sustainability
  • Our customers, who value the unique quality of our plant-based products and services and the Aveda Mission
  • Our supplier: Aveda
  • The communities in which we live and operate our business
  • Organizations and institutions that care about our business and with whom we can partner in realizing the Aveda Mission

Providing enriching opportunities for our team members are the building blocks for success.

We are passionate about caring for our team much like we care for our guests and believe strongly in being able to provide added benefits to them and their families in unique and different ways.

Every year we make over 10,000 in charitable donation to organizations around the Milwaukee Community, because for us, building a strong community is what makes our business worth while. Our guests are the backbone of philosophy so supporting organizations and causes close to their hearts in essential.

Ronald McDonald Partnership

A large part of our mission at Neroli Salon & Spa revolves around our mission statement “Renewing Spirits and Awakening Minds”. Giving back to our 14947944_10103792727121508_2432874805124494244_ncommunity is essential to our mission within the city of Milwaukee.

Along the lines of our mission statement, we are partnering with the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin. Each month a different Neroli location volunteers their evening to prepare and serve dinner for the families staying there.

When a family enters the Ronald McDonald House, children are treated to a visit to the Magic Room where they can pick a special gift for their stay.

Since they opened our doors in 1984, the Ronald McDonald House in Milwaukee has been a “home away from home” providing more than 36,000 family stays.

These families come from 569 Wisconsin communities, all 50 states, and many countries around the world whose children are receiving medical care at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin or other area hospitals. Last year they provided nearly 1,000 family stays. They offer a place to call home at little or no cost, so families can stay together.

No one is ever turned away for their inability to pay.

The House is more than just a place to stay. They offer families therapeutic programming, a comprehensive meal program, comfortable community spaces and so much more. A team of over 600 volunteers and a small dedicated staff are always ready to do whatever it takes to make a family’s stay a little easier. Living in a community, side by side, families form friendships and support one another through difficult times.

Camp Minikani

Providing enriching opportunities for our team members are the building blocks for success. Taking that philosophy one step further, Owner and Founder Susan Haise provided team members the opportunity to send their children to day camp at Camp Minikani this summer, free of cost.

A week full of outdoor fun, at Camp Minikani kids can just be kids—free of technology and the pressures of school and home–campers thrive and discover things inside themselves they never knew existed. Lifelong friendships are formed, independence is sparked, and laughter and singing is heard throughout the camp from morning until night.

We are passionate about caring for our team much like we care for our guests and believe strongly in being able to provide added benefits to them and their families in unique and different ways.

Summer camp, for so many families is an expensive and often unattainable luxury. Helping our Neroli families make unforgettable summer memories is a priceless contribution in comparison to their years of hard work and loyalty.

Guest & Team Member Trips

Every few years Neroli gives team members and guests a chance to go on a once in a life time trip to a breath taking location.

“Not everyone would jump at the opportunity to travel to Nepal with their boss, but then again the true passion that lives within Neroli isn’t one you see every day which may be part of the reason I have been working with the company for 10 years. Our owner, Susan Haise, loves to travel and with that she plans trips on a bi-annual basis where team members are able to join should their interest and financial means allow. Last year when Susan shared with the team that we would be doing a trip to Nepal where we would meet the people within the community that make the AVEDA holiday paper I knew it would be a once in a lifetime experience…” Continue reading team member, Bridgette’s trip…

The day I found out I won the Neroli Salon & Spa trip giveaway to Nepal was surreal. The anticipation was with me for 9 months…kind of like having a baby. The wonder of what was in store, imaging what new experiences could change me forever occupied my thoughts almost daily.

Now That I Am Here

Flying into Nepal
Flying into Nepal
Every moment has been true joy. I am experiencing a very unique culture that has been educational, eye opening and humbling. The beautiful people here are generous in their spirit and quick to offer a heart warming smile.  Our first day here we were lucky enough to be present for shiva. Roughly 700,000 Hindu worshipers from all over arrived in the city. With our guides we walked to the temple and I feel like we brushed elbows with 400,000 people.

While this sounds potentially unpleasant it was amazing!! I gained an understanding of another religion and the passion of its people was felt everywhere.

Yesterday I had the fortune to visit the paper making factory that partners with AVEDA. Watching this process and all the work that encompasses the lovely end product left me overwhelmed with emotion. The beautiful women who work to create the paper had me wanting to be side by side with them. They are strong and their spirit for a better life through this work really left a mark of my heart. The guides that have been with us are beyond anything I could have ever expected. Every detail of our trip is handled by them with such kindness and sincerity that I often have a “water build-up” in my eyes. I don’t know what I did to deserve this good fortune…but I will keep trying to understand my role in this life journey.
