There is certainly no shortage of great places to enjoy a coffee or a glass of wine on Milwaukee’s East Side. However, the team at Neroli cannot WAIT to welcome the new establishment opening only a few blocks from our location. Milwaukee’s first cat cafe, SIP & PURR, will be holding it’s grand opening on Friday, June 1st. The new cafe will offer a variety of snack items ranging from salads to baked goods as well as coffee, wine, beer, and organic cold-pressed juices and locally made sodas. Not in the mood to cuddle with a furry friend? The cat lounge and cafe are separate so you can choose to enjoy your time with or without the adoptable cats. SIP & PURR is partnered with Lakeland Animal Shelter to help homeless cats find their fur-ever homes.
Anyone that has ever been to Milwaukee during the summer months knows that there is always a festival to attend. Whether its at the summerfest grounds or a blocked off street festival, there is always good music, food, and vendors ready to make your summer memorable.
Another favorite for our East Side team members is The Waxwing on North Avenue. The Waxwing is a locally owned shop with local art and handmade gifts. Not only can you always find the perfect gift or home decor at The Waxwing, they also host a variety of art classes and workshops. Interested in looking at art, but not looking to purchase? Take a nice stroll down the East Side’s Black Cat Alley. The East Side Business Improvement District partnered with the community and artists to transform an ordinary alley into a cultural hot spot. The alley is host to 17 murals by 18 artists, and growing. If you venture past the East Side into Downtown on a Wednesday evening this summer, you will run into NEWaukee’s Night Market. This market is a free event on Wisconsin Avenue that takes place on June 13, July 17, August 15, and September 12. The outdoor event showcases a variety of local Milwaukee vendors, performers and artists. The event strives to bring the community together to support local artists and provide a fun and safe space for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy. You can even stop and fresh your lips or get a fun braid at the Neroli’s beauty bar booth at the night market, too.
