Weren’t able to attend our Infant Massage Work? We talked to Bayshore massage therapist, Tori who lead the workshop, and she gave us a few main take-aways: when, where and how long to massage your baby, as well as the actual massage techniques.
- Benefits of Infant Massage: It helps to regulate the babies sleep/wake cycle, it can relieve consptipation, and reduce colic and fussiness. Massaging your baby can also increase their ability to fight off germs.
- How Long to Massage: At the class, they learned a few techniques to provide a full body massage to your baby. You can spend 3 to 15 minutes massaging ten as often as you would like.
- Important Times to Massage: Babies get tight muscles just like adults. Make sure to always do some type of massage and stretching after long car rides, lots of activity, and before bed.
