Team Spotlight: Loida, Nail Designer

PERHAPS IT’S BECAUSE she’s a mother of three, or maybe it’s because she’s inspired by Mother Theresa.
We aren’t sure, but one thing we know is that Loida, our Nail Designer at Bayshore, has a natural tendency to nurture.

Loida explains that providing a luxury experience is not all that simple;
it’s about connecting with the guest, educating the guest, and nurturing the guest.

Where were you before becoming a nail designer for Neroli?
I married at 19, moved to New Jersey and had 3 children within five years. So my early career was raising and nurturing my family.

What is a misconception/judgment people often have about your services?
People often underestimate the amount of knowledge and attention to detail it takes to create a quality service and guest experience.

What do you love about the beauty and wellness industry?
I love having a career where I connect, educate, and nurture my guest. It’s humbling to think that sometimes we’re the only “touch” someone will receive in a day.

Are there any myths about nail care that you find true or false?
That “nails need to breathe.” Our nails are entirely made up of dead skin cells. They don’t obtain oxygen from the air, only through our blood stream.

What inspires you, both in work and in life?
Spiritual and intuitive healers, both by nature and the practice of remaining “present.”
I reread The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz every New Year to remind myself to be impeccable with my word, don’t take anything personally, don’t make assumptions, and always do my best.

What brings you to your “happy place”?
My happy place is anytime I get to spend with family and close friends.

Do you have a favorite food?
I’m a foodie, and always exploring new ways of cooking healthy delicious meals. I feel very passionate about the connection that nutrition plays in our health.

Is there a special quote that resonates with you?
“If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” – Mother TeresaMother T
