Love the Boots? Here is How to Style Them

Boots of all shapes, lengths, and sizes have been on the trend radar this season. From ankle-length suede booties to over-the-knee leather knockouts, there is a boot style for everyone. This trend has one question continually arising: “I love the boots, but how do I pull them off?” The thing to remember about boots is that they can be dressed up or worn casual and can most of the time transition from a fall or winter accessory into the spring.  Here are three different lengths of boots to consider while looking for the pair that best fits your style:

Booties are a great alternative to an edgy pair of heels for the winter season. They give extra coverage to ensure that your tootsies stay warm. You can spice up a pair of skinny jeans for a high trend look, slip them on with your little black dress for a night out, or pair them with a skirt and blouse combo for a day in the office.  The thing to remember for rocking a pair of booties: you can substitute booties in any outfit you would wear your favorite pumps with.

Mid-length boots are great for a casual look, but can be tricky depending on the length of your legs. Be mindful not to split your body into equal sections when matching an outfit to these boots. Skinny jeans or tights look great tucked into the mid-length look. A tip to keeping your legs looking lean and long is to add scrunched boot socks or leg warmers into the mix to break your body into uneven sections. This can also be done to elongate your torso by wearing a longer top or adding a belt around the waist.  The key for this length is to have a focus area of your body that you would like to elongate.

Over-the-knee boots are as fashion forward as it gets this season and tend to stir controversy with their sexy heights.  Skinny jeans are your friend when it comes to toning down the sex appeal of these boots, as they add a full coverage comfort.  Throw on tights, a romper, and a blazer or tuck in dress slacks and a blouse for a fashion forward office look.  Show a little skin with a sweater dress or shorts and a sweater for an edgy look. Keep in mind with over-the-knee boots that when showing skin, less is more for a sexy, yet classy appeal.
